Run command can also be used to access the Control Panel of your system. Here are the commands (given in bold) to be typed in Run along with the functions / what it opens
- appwiz.cpl – Add/Remove Programs control
- timedate.cpl – Date/Time Properties control
- desk.cpl – Display Properties control
- findfast.cpl – FindFast control
- fonts – Fonts Folder control // remember : no cpl extension here. It just opens system fonts folder
- inetcpl.cpl – Internet Properties control
- main.cpl keyboard – Keyboard Properties control
- main.cpl – Mouse Properties control
- main.cpl mouse – Mouse Properties control
- mmsys.cpl – Multimedia Properties control
- netcpl.cpl – Network Properties control
- password.cpl – Password Properties control
- printers – Printers Folder control
- mmsys.cpl sounds – Sound Properties control

! Easy to remember : These end with .cpl which means control panel
Wait…….But when we have such a beautiful and easy GUI to access, why and where are these useful ? The point is we can access these using the run command. This has it’s particular use when task manager works and the system stops loading at the logon screen (usually happens when attacked by viruses and / or corrupted system files).
